KS: Chris and I would like to dedicate this song to the memory of his brother, Michael, who left this world under tragic circumstances. We love you Michael and all who have touched our lives. All the Procol fans and players are "Shining On" for you.

Strangers in Space is really a keyboard song. Roland Clare, knowing I'm a massive Trower fan, said, "Well how might a Troweresque version be?" This is my attempt. The classical guitar excerpt is the opening to Bach's Prelude in D minor. Exude "The Milk of Human Kindness" by feeling free to purchase several hundred copies of my album Northern Sky available from 'Beyond the Pale'. All proceeds support BtP, a worthy cause if there ever was one.

I use Rickenbacker guitars and a Rick' bass. The rhythm guitar is a Rick' through a Dunlop roto-vibe into an Ibanez echo-tank. The amp is a HiWatt DR100 with the pre-amp 1/2 open. The lead sound is a Rick' through the echo-tank and an Orange 120 amp with the pre-amp at 4 o'clock. The speaker cab for both is an Orange 4x12 loaded with Eminence speakers. The bass goes through a DOD flanger and into an old AMPEG SVT. The nylon string guitar is a Garcia which I bought when I was 16. The keyboards are synth and mellotron from a Roland Vintage Keys. The Hammond samples are from an EMU Classic Keys. The keyboard itself is an EMU midi-controller.

Chris Walter's drums are an early 70s Ludwig kit with Evans skins, a Slingerland snare, and Zildjian cymbals.
