"... the Palers' Project album is to me what it must be like to listen to a new Procol Harum album. It was obvious, even a couple of tracks in, that this was no 'pastiche' but a great appreciation of past works ... at no point was the original musical mood lost. The 'Palers' Project' certainly proved something I'd never dared to dream, that PH songs were coverable; of course they are, it just takes imagination and artistry! ... It's been compulsive listening for Franky and I since Xmas day ... I was really moved by every track ... "

"... I'm most enjoying the surreal on surreal, Lost in the Looking-Glass ... It’s a very trippy experience hearing all these very different, evocative performances of PH material ... only such a deeply rich body of work could have inspired or allowed such a richly-textured tribute ... All-in-all, this is my favorite recording of 2002. A marvelous artifact from a planet-wide Procol Harum creative subculture"

" ... these variant renderings also manage to re-open fans’ ears and minds to the intricate beauty of Procol melodies and harmonies that one might have grown somewhat too accustomed to in their original versions. Seriousness in musicianship and approach prevail, but in true Harum fashion there is sheer fun as well. One or two renditions are hilarious in their respectful disrespect ... instrumental themes worm their way from one song into another ... "

" … because the music of Procol Harum is so varied, genuine and often very moving as well as inspiring, the interpretations of the songs maintain those same qualities, but in very individual and unique ways"

" ... I am astounded by much of what I have been listening to ... so much originality and humor ... so many colors and textures. These many interpretations FORCE the mind to ... hear the power in each song with each new voice ... Lost in the Looking Glass has profoundly altered my perceptions in most delightful and enlightening ways."

" ... the forces of good have not been idle ... it's refreshing to hear new angles on old favourites ... the project has brought a different slant to many songs ... this compilation is remarkable in that it not only demands use of the repeat button but also requires a return to the original recordings on a regular basis ... "I have a number of favourites, which would grace any album ... there are some fantastic musical sounds with much invention and brilliance in evidence ... we will anticipate a "famous persons'" cover album one day (which wouldn't have half the love and 'character' of this one) ... "

Je comprends tout à fait le commentaire de Keith Reid, lorsqu’il qualifie les interprétations du Palers’ Project d’ «intriguing» ... Il y a de fort belles réussites ...
